Carol (Tidey) Caron Obituary
October 4, 1929 - February 12, 2017
Born in Grand Rapids, MI
Resided in Marshall, MI
Carol was born on October 4, 1929 in Grand Rapids to Charles and Harriett (Dean) Tidey.
She attended Ottawa Hills High school and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Teaching. Carol married Joseph George Caron on August 16, 1952 in Marshall. They had three children and shared 49 loving years together before Joseph's passing in 2001.
Carol worked as a substitute high school teacher, but was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of the Bridge Club, volunteering her time with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed traveling with Joseph, wintering in Florida and spending summers in Michigan with family. But Carol's real passion was decorating houses, she had a very eclectic taste. Carol and Joseph moved quite a bit and people would always marvel at the interiors of their homes. Carol loved clothing and even had special closets created in her homes to accommodate her collection. She frequently watched the QVC channel and packages would arrive at the house constantly.
Carol is survived by her 3 children, Michael (Libby) Caron of Marshall, Tim (Kim) Caron of Marshall, and Kelly Costello of Traverse City; and 6 grandchildren, Shay Caron of Atlanta, GA, Kipp Caron of Marshall, Joe Caron of Marshall, Jessica Smeltzer of Paw Paw, Kelsie Costello of East Lansing, and Allison Costello of East Lansing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Harriett; husband, Joseph; and brother, Charles Tidey III.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Craig Kempf Family Funeral Homes, 723 US 27 North, Marshall Chapel on Saturday June 3, 2017at 11am. Carol and Joseph will be interred together at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall.
