Mary Lou Ramon

Mary Lou Ramon,75, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 22, 1948 to Raynard and Leura (Boaz-Miner) Veytruba in Toledo, Ohio.

Mary Lou was a member of Overflow Church in Battle Creek, Michigan. She proudly served as a  Battle Creek City Commissioner and was active with several Battle Creek Neighborhood Planning Councils, where she was their secretary at one time as well. Mary Lou was an animal lover. Her pet Dobermans were her favorite and her cats were a close second. She enjoyed knitting and had an amazing green thumb and her English garden was admired by all. Roses were her pride and joy.

Mary is survived by her son, Jesse (JJ) (Kelly Wemple) J. Ramon of Battle Creek, Michigan; her grandchildren, Morgan Ramon of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Megan (Alex) Konopaske of East Jordan, Michigan, Lily Green and Anthony Green of Battle Creek, Michigan, and great granddaughter Isobel Konopaske.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Ruth Hall-Bacon, William Veytruba and George Veytruba.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Oaklawn Hospice (13444 Preston Dr. Marshall, Michigan 49068) or an animal shelter of your choice.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
