Deborah (Debbie) Anne Rugg, 54, of Portage, Michigan, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Bickford of Battle Creek surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 16, 1969 to Francis and Nancy (Weisner) Rugg in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Debbie was a graduate of Bellevue High School and she then enrolled at Argubright Business College in Battle Creek earning her Associate's Degree in Business.
She loved jewelry, as her nickname "The Jewelry Lady" summed it up. Debbie worked as a Certified Diamontologist with Kay Jewelers for seven years in the Battle Creek store and seven years at the Kalamazoo store. She was recognized yearly by Kay Jewelers as a top associate which would earn her trips throughout the world. Debbie loved to travel with family and friends, Frankenmuth was one of her favorite places. Everyone who traveled with her knew that rock and roll was going to be playing on the radio. She always looked forward to Christmas as it brought family together and she could decorate with her snowman collection. Debbie will be missed for her smile and caring personality and for her most gracious heart.
Debbie is survived by her siblings; Frank (Jady) A. Rugg, Jr., Ann-Marie Frame of Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of my heart, Antonia Simmons of Hastings, Michigan, her nephews, Shawn (Brittany) Packer of Battle Creek, Michigan, Connor Rugg, Daxton Rugg and Grayson Rugg and her special extended family, Ginger (Terry) Berkimer and Cory Berkimer of Battle Creek, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Nancy Rugg.
Visitation for Debbie will be held Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave. SW Battle Creek Michigan 49015.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, with a visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am and the service at 11:00am at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave. SW Battle Creek, Battle Creek, Michigan 49015. Inurnment will follow at Assyria Cemetery.
