Jeffery John Sears, age 53, of Albion, Michigan passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice in Jackson, Michigan.

Jeff was born on April 14, 1971, in Fort Belvoir, Virginia to Vernon “Del” and Linda Ann (Markovich) Sears. He was a lifelong resident of the Springport and Duck Lake areas and was a graduate of Springport High School, class of 1989.

Jeff was an experienced and accomplished welder.  He had been employed at Albion Industries before being forced to retire due to health reasons.   His big smile and friendly face was always a welcome sight to anyone in need of help.  He was affectionately referred to by many as the “Neighborhood Mechanic”.

As a hobby, he enjoyed working on cars and trucks.  He had rebuilt several tractors from the ground up.  Two of the more notable were a 1941 Massey Harris and also an antique John Deere. Jeff was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors.

He is survived by his parents, Del and Linda Sears of Albion; a brother, Nickolas “Nick” (Brittany) Sears of Oakland, Michigan; and a special niece, Morgan Elizabeth Sears.   He is also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins.
