Thomas "Tom" E. Hillman

Thomas (Tom) Eldon Hillman of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on April 17th, 2023, surrounded by his children and eldest grandchild at the age of 69.

Tom leaves behind a legacy of love, acceptance, and laughter.

Tom was the eldest of 8 children born to Tom and Joyce Hillman on August 24th, 1953. He was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan. He filled his younger working years in construction and maintenance. He was known for his ability to drive a car and tell you everything that was wrong just by the sounds it made. Tom loved to camp, fish, snowmobile, and garden. He was a man of strong principles and not one to waiver from what he believed was right and just. He had a powerful personality, that he passed down to his children, and a presence that could be felt immediately upon entering a room. Tom also passed on his resourcefulness and love of nature and family to his children and grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his brothers Ken (Margie) Hillman, Dan (Kim) Hillman, David Hillman and Eric Hillman, his children, Tara (Eric) Hillman-Macleod, Heather (Mark) McCracken, Shawn (Rachel) Hillman, Ryan (Debbie) Hillman, his grandchildren Devinn (Amara), Olivia, Amelia, Miles, Andie, Liz, Alex, Pax, and Finn. Tom is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Joyce Hillman, his sister Debbie Hillman, and brothers Bruce and Rodney Hillman.

Services have been entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068. Per Tom’s wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service.
