Janet Lorene (Ward) Clear

Janet Lorene Clear, age 85, of Orange City, Florida and formerly of Battle Creek died Friday, August 7, 2020.

Mrs. Clear was born on October 9, 1934 in Battle Creek to Nelson and Juanita (Wright) Ward. She attended Battle Creek Central High School. Janet had been employed as a manager for Stop and Go Stores in Florida for many years. While living in Battle Creek, she served as an assistance manager for the Salvation Army.

Throughout her life she had been married several times. She had been married to Clive Lyttle, Milton Thrasher Sr., Al McPherson and James Clear.

Janet enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers and working in her well-maintained yard. She received a special award for her yard while living in Florida. She enjoyed bowling and participated in several Florida leagues. For a short time, she worked with her son, Milton “Mickey”, to flip houses.

She is survived by children, Donna Bottoms of Tennessee, Diane Goodson of Florida, Dennis Michael Lyttle of Florida, and Milton “Mickey” Thrasher of Battle Creek; and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Juanita Ward; husband, James Clear (2001); daughter, Dena Lyttle Skarr; and sons, Daniel Lyttle and Nelson Paul Thrasher; and a brother, Nelson Ward.
