Gerald R. Thomas, 86, of Marshall, Michigan passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at home.
He was born on April 4, 1936 to Arthur and Beverly (Reeg) Thomas in Marshall, Michigan. He was a 1954 graduate of Marshall High School and continued his education at Ferris State University, learning the refrigeration trade. On January 29, 1955, he married Marilyn T. Taylor in Angola, Indiana, sadly she passed away on February 10, 2021.
Gerald worked as a Service Manager for Warren/Sherer, Division of Kysor Industries for 43 years, retiring in 2004.
Gerald worked at Win Schuler's Restaurant helping with their refrigeration needs for several years. He was a former member of the Marshall United Methodist Church and the Marshall Exchange Club. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, playing bridge and being outdoors. Gerald had fun coaching his daughter’s softball team and in general he was a sports fan, especially the Atlanta professional teams. He will be fondly missed for his sense of humor and how he loved to tease his grandchildren.
Gerald is survived by his children; Cynthia L. (Bruce) Bosserd of Marshall, Michigan, Michael R. Thomas of Marshall, Michigan and Catherine L. (Robert) Hilsman of McDonough, Georgia, his grandchildren; Michele (Darrel) Cable of Marshall, Michigan, Benjamin (Christina) Bosserd of Aurora, Ohio, Robbie Hilsman of Monticello, Georgia, Brynn (Craig) Hewitt of Covington, Georgia and Kaleb Thomas of Macon, Georgia, his brother; Keith (Lorie) Thomas of Portage, Michigan. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private celebration of Gerald's life will take place at a later date.
