Frances W. (Crandal) Britten

Frances W. Britten, 90, of Bellevue, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek.

She was born on March 16, 1931 to Leighton and Fannie (Barker) Crandal in Detroit, Michigan.

Frances married Harold A. Britten on September 10, 1949 and sadly he preceded her in death on October 27, 2005.

She moved to the Battle Creek area in 1946 from Detroit and had worked part time at various places including Leila Hospital, Kellogg Cereal Company and Dunkin Donuts. Frances was a life member of the Climax Eastern Star and was a longtime member of the Battle Creek Sweet Adelines. Frances loved to garden, read, sing, bake and decorate cakes, although her greatest love was being with her family.

Frances is survived by her three sons; Kenneth A. Britten of Bellevue, Michigan, Keith Britten of Burlington, Michigan and Rick (Sharon) Britten of Ceresco, Michigan; her seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; her siblings; Elsie Hargus of Battle Creek, Michigan and David (Penny) Crandal of Brevard, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Britten, her parents, her son, Kim Britten, her sister, Judith Fisher and brother, Fred Crandal.

Visitation for Frances will take place on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave. SW Battle Creek, Michigan 49015 with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Josh Howard officiating. Burial will take place Morgan Cemetery, Leroy Township, Michigan.
