Edwin "Ed" Wendorf

Edwin “Ed” Wendorf, 75, of Homer, passed away on December 11, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 9, 1947, to Warren and Ruth (Allen) Wendorf in Coldwater, Michigan. Ed enjoyed traveling, he worked as a Truck Driver with Safeway Transit, for 27 years. Ed married Charlotte (Jack) and enjoyed being married for 37 years. He was a life time member of VFW Post 9411 in Homer. Ed enjoyed old western books and movies, riding his great grand daughters around on the four-wheeler, canoeing, kayaking, and playing cards. Ed especially had a good time arguing with mom while cutting his hair, then wondered why it was all messed up! He also enjoyed keeping his vehicles extremely clean, including his semi. But more than anything else, Ed loved spending time with family, especially his great grandchildren. Ed is survived by his wife, Charlotte; two sons, Steve (Brandee Hoyt) VanHorn of Homer and Scott (Stephanie) VanHorn of Albion; two brothers, Kenneth (Judy) Wendorf of Quincy, Michigan, and Raymond (Mary) Wendorf of Litchfield, Michigan; sister, Dianna Jones of  Colon, Michigan, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grand daughters. Ed was preceded in death by parents, Ruth and Warren Wendorf; sister, Esther Marie Robinson, and brother, Robert Wendorf.

Services have been entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 303 S. Hillsdale Street, Homer, MI 49245. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 4:00pm - 7:00pm & Friday, December 16, 2022, 11:30am - 12:30pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 12:30pm with Pastor Travis Davis, officiating.
