Earl Barton Johnson

Earl Barton Johnson, 57, a lifelong Marshall resident, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 at his home.

He was born on May 17, 1962, the son of Cecil Eugene and Nora Marie (Perkins) Johnson in Marshall.

Earl received his GED from Marshall Public Schools. He had worked for Lear Corporation in Marshall as a laborer for many years and for the past 15 years he was a welder line leader at Tenneco Automotive in Marshall.

Earl loved to watch football, especially the Minnesota Vikings, NASCAR and playing poker. He also enjoyed bowling and listening to country and rock music. Earl will be remembered for his playful teasing of people and being an extremely hard worker.

He is survived by his mother, Nora Marie Johnson of Marshall; his son, Joshua (Amber) Johnson of Marshall; his step-children, Brandon of East Lansing, Ashley of Homer and Dylan of East Lansing; his 3 grandchildren and 3 grandchildren on the way; his siblings, Ken (Bonnie) Johnson of Battle Creek, Bruce (Lisa) Johnson of Marshall, Teresa (Mike) Stone of Allen, Rita (Mike) Barber of Marshall and Marsha (Larry Wetherill) Johnson of Battle Creek. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Earl was preceded in death by his father, Cecil.

**Due to Covid-19 the visitation and funeral services for Earl at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068 and interment at Rice Creek Cemetery, Lee Township will be held privately.
