David Clyde Brooks

David “Dave” Clyde Brooks, 60, of Homer, passed away on April 16, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. 

David was born in Albion, MI on October 7, 1962, to Duane and Linda Brooks. He graduated from Homer High School in 1983 and went on to complete two years at ITT Tech in Fort Wayne, IN. 

David and Sharon met in 7th grade at Homer Middle School. They reconnected in 1987 and were married on August 28, 1992. 

David worked his way up from CNC operator to supervisor at Classic Turning, where he worked for 25 years. 

David enjoyed spending his free time hunting and fishing, and was a longtime fan of NASCAR. He often took his grandsons out hunting and fishing, creating memories and experiences they’ll always cherish. He had many good times with his friends and extended family, most often with Sam and Joe Pace, Robert Wolfe, and Tyler Brooks among many others. 

David is survived by his wife Sharon Brooks, daughters Kelsye (Trenton) Gilbert and Kirsten Brooks, father William Duane Brooks, grandsons Devaughn Hays, Davion and Malaki Louris, and Lucas Gilbert, brothers Ronald and Daniel (Tami) Brooks, and several nieces and nephews. 

David was preceded in death by his mother Linda Brooks. 

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
