Bonnie L. Banfield, 82, of Marshall died on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family following a long illness.
Bonnie was born on August 7, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Earl and Lois (Holden) Gust. She graduated from Lutheran High School in Milwaukee. On September 9, 1969 she married Samuel A. Banfield in Marshall.
Bonnie worked for the Calhoun County many years, first with the County Clerks office then with many other departments until retiring in 2001. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church. While staying active at church, Bonnie sang in the choir for several years. Bonnie enjoyed the outdoors, boating, water skiing, and going for walks. She also enjoyed singing, dancing, going to Higgins Lake with friends and yearly trips with girlfriends to Traverse City. Bonnie loved spending time with her family especially time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Sam; daughters, Nancy Doyal and Shannon (Darin) Gwin; grandchildren Weston Quigley and Kaylee Gwin; and her brother Bob Gust. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter Tracy Lorraine in 1964.
Visitation will take place from 4-7pm on Monday March 1, 2021 at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 US Hwy 27 N Marshall MI 49068. Due to Covid19 there will be marked entrances and exits along with following the state guidelines for masks and social distancing will be followed. Funeral services will take place at 11am on Tuesday March 2, 2021 at the Christ Lutheran Church, 440 West Drive. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
