Ann (Glynn) Weinert

G. Ann (Glynn) Weinert, 93, of Marshall, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Raybrook Manor in Grand Rapids.

Ann was born on November 28, 1929 to Gibson and Jane (Koets) Glynn in Marshall, Michigan. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1948 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University in 1951 completing a 4 year degree in 3 years time.

Ann worked as an Occupational Therapist first at the Mary Free Bed Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan and then at the VA Hospital in Battle Creek for several years where she met her husband, Wagner “Wag” Weinert. They were married on November 6, 1954 at the United Methodist Church in Kalamazoo. He preceded her in death in 2018 after nearly 64 wonderful years together.

She was a former member of the National Occupational Therapists and was active for over 40 years in the Oaklawn Hospital Auxiliary. Ann volunteered at the VA Hospital in Battle Creek after her retirement in 1992. She was an active member in several book clubs throughout the Marshall area. Ann was also active in the antique community, having booths at various consignment stores. She loved pets, especially dogs. Above all, Ann cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her children, David (Cindi) Weinert of Santa Barbara, California, Gary (Nancy) Weinert of Bloomfield Hills, and Diane Weinert of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Annalise Weinert, Madison Weinert, Andrew Weinert, Kendall Weinert, Colin Weinert; sister-in-law, Dorothy Sahn; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by husband Wagner Weinert and her parents.

The family would like to thank the staff of Sunrise of Cascade and Holland Home Raybrook/Faith Hospice for their love, care, and support of Ann.

A visitation will be held on June 3, 2023, from 3-5pm at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068.

Burial will take place at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
