Allan Vincent Koziol, 67, of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of July 2nd, 2019 after a brave 4 month battle with advanced stomach cancer.
Born in Marshall, Michigan November 22, 1951, to the late Thaddeus Walter and Elenora Evelyn (Connelly) Koziol. Allan attended Sherman School, Marshall Junior High School and was a member of the 1970 graduating class of Marshall High School.
Allan leaves behind his wife of 25 years Cindy (Cordoba) and deeply cherished sons Carston and Marshall. Dear brother to Kay (the late James) Moore, William (Genny Koziol, and Barbara (the late Guy) Jordan, and sister-in-law Genny Koziol. Allan's brother William passed away right after Allan, on July 4, 2019. Also survived by niece Jennifer (Neil) Johnson, nephew Guy Jordan, and great uncle to Jagger Johnson.
Retired Lieutenant with the Detroit Police Department after 28 years of service. Allan was gregarious and witty. He enjoyed southern Florida, golf, military history, baseball, classic movies, crime shows, and had a known sweet tooth. Allan relied on his Catholic faith throughout his adult life. He will be remembered by family, friends, and neighbors as loyal man with a genuine sense of duty for the safety and well being of those around him.
Visitation Friday, July 5, from 5-8 PM with Rosary at 7 PM at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd. Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.
Graveside services will be held at Oakridge Cemetery, Marshall, MI on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 at 11:30AM.
Family and friends are invited to return to the Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services after the burial for a luncheon in the reception hall .
