Winifred "Winnie" M. Durham, 85, of East Leroy, Michigan passed away on January 7, 2024, at home.
Winnie was born on March 19, 1938, in Battle Creek, Michigan to Major and Winifred Ruth (Moak) Dodge.
She loved gardening, visiting the elderly in nursing homes and took many kids to the Circle C Ranch which is affiliated with Odosagih Bible Conference in New York. Winnie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in 1968 at a David Wilkerson Crusade in Battle Creek. She was a member of Wakeshma Community Church for over 40 years and loved teaching Sunday School. After her husband, Sam retired, they joined RVICS- Roving Volunteers in Christ Service. They traveled around the United States helping with different projects and spreading the word of Christ for 8 years.
Winnie is survived by her children, Dale (Brenda) Traister of East Leroy, Michigan, Terry (Robin) Traister of Lacey, Michigan, and Diana Green of Battle Creek, Michigan; her 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel S. Durham; her parents, Major and Winifred Dodge; her son, Thomas E. Durham; and her siblings, Paul Dodge and Shirley Dodge.
Visitation for Winnie will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave. SW Battle Creek, Michigan 49015.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Wakeshma Community Church, 16732 E Uv Ave, Fulton, MI 49052, with Rev. David Mackaluso officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church prior to the funeral service.
