William "Willie" Waltman Jones

Our family is saddened by the loss of William, on June 9th, 2022, at Bronson hospital in Kalamazoo. Willie was born on August 28th, 1943, in Marshall Mi, proceeding to be raised and graduated from Marshall. Willie was the son of Mary Julia (Trupiano) Jones and Dr. Aubrey Jones.

Willie loved working with his family at the Marshall Wholesale and Vending business, from 9 years old until the day the doors closed. He attended Argubright Business School in Battle Creek, then went on to work at St. Regis factory in Marshall, followed by Michigan Paperboard Company (now known as Graphic Packaging) until retirement. Willie met and married Linda Jones in 1972.

Willie was an avid golfer in his youth and was known for such. University of Michigan football was his favorite thing, and he quoted his football statistics for everyone.  In Willie’s retirement, he enjoyed playing cards and billiards with friends.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Jones, and his five children: Pamela Iden, Terry, Randy, Chris Austin, Nina Jones, his 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and sister Stephanie Lafferty.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 20, 2022, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Marshall, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, 11:00 am at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Marshall, Michigan, with Father Craig Lusk, officiating.

Burial will take place immediately following the service at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Kool Family Community Center.
