William C. Hutchings

William C. "Bill" Hutchings, of Leesburg, Florida and formerly of Marshall passed away quietly at his home on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 after a several month illness.Bill was born on October 19, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio. He served his country in the Korean conflict. He formerly worked with Standard Oil of Ohio before taking a job with the Mobil Oil Corp, which brought he and his family to Marshall, MI. After he left Mobil, he accepted the managers'' position at the Marshall Farm Bureau, until his retirement in 1995. He fulfilled his dream of relocating to Florida after his retirement with his beloved wife of 54 years, LaVerne. They built a home at Pennbrooke Fairways where he formed a Bass Fishing Club and actively fished for 9 years. Besides fishing, he had a passion for cars and all forms of automobile racing. He actively raced stock cars in his earlier years starting in Cleveland.Besides his wife, he is also survived by a son, Robert (Susan) Hutchings of Marshall, daughter, Kathy Lynch of Mesa, AZ; two grandchildren, Joseph and Beau Hutchings; and brothers, Richard Hutchings of Florida and James of California.Cremation has taken place in Florida and his remains will be placed in a garden at the Bushnell Veterans Cemetery in Florida. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Leesburg. Memorial contributions in Bill''s memory may be make to "Villages of Hospice" and sent in care of LaVerne Hutchings, 32635 Oak Park Dr., Leesburg, FL 34748.
