Vickie L. West

Vickie Lynn West, 75, of Homer, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2024, at her residence surrounded by family.  

She was born on August 5, 1948, to Levi (Jack) and Valda (Yost) Shreve in Marshall, Michigan and graduated from Marshall High School, in the Class of 1966. Her first job was as a telephone information operator at Bell.  She was a bartender for many years prior to moving to Homer and working as a third shift supervisor for Brembo for over 20 years.  After retiring she worked at the Homer Shell where she enjoyed seeing many friendly faces.  

She loved her many pets very much and was an avid motorcycle rider and loved all her brothers and sisters from the Vietnam Vets Chapter C.  She attended United Methodist Church of Homer.  She also loved to garage sale just like her mother.

Vickie is survived by her son, Michael (Jeanne) George of Homer; daughter, Kimberly Carl of Homer; four grandchildren, Tyler (Makayla Stevens) George, Megan George, Ariana Kiddy, and Cole Kiddy; sister, Jodie Marie Henrichs of Homer; her nieces and nephews, Levi (Amanda) Shreve, Andy Irvin, Angela Bryant, and Alex Henrichs. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Michael "Shorty" H. Shreve.

Visitation will be held at Kempf's of Homer, 303 S Hillsdale Street, Homer, MI 49245 on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm, Pastor Bev Clark, officiating. A graveside service will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Homer.
