Thomas "Mike" Michael Gordier

Thomas “Mike” Michael Gordier, 77, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at home.

He was born on January 13, 1946 to Thomas and Donna (Katz) Gordier in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was a 1965 graduate of Harper Creek High School. Mike enlisted with the United States Marine Corp on January 21, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan and was honorably discharged on January 19, 1968 from Camp Lejeune, N. Carolina attaining the rank of Lance Corporal.

Mike worked as a Millwright for II Stanley in Battle Creek, Michigan for many years.  He was a member of Our Lady of Great Oaks Catholic Church in Bellevue and the American Legion Post #257 in Battle Creek. Mike enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and going out to dinner. During his youth, Mike was active in 4-H and woodworking. He loved to travel with his wife Bernie throughout the United States, and they made a point to learn about the local history of the places they stayed.

Mike is survived by his sister, Kay Smith of Battle Creek, Michigan; his brothers, Patrick Gordier of Battle Creek, Michigan and, Jack (Kim) Gordier of Battle Creek, Michigan; his brother-in-law, Walter Smith of Sevierville, Tennessee and his aunt, Pat Motley of Battle Creek, Michigan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadette "Bernie" Gordier and his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 11:30 am at the Our Lady of Great Oak Catholic Church, Bellevue, Michigan, with Reverend Fr. Daniel Doctor, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Burial with military honors will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan.
