Thomas W. "Tom" Turner, age 31, of Battle Creek, died unexpectedly at Battle Creek Health Systems on Monday, October 9, 2006. Tom was born June 8, 1975 in Bay City to Nelson R. "Skip" and Sharon E. (Feldkamp) Turner. The family moved to Battle Creek in August of 1979. Tom attended Harper Creek Schools, and graduated from Harper Creek High School in 1993. He then studied computer science at Kellogg Community College for two years.. Tom was married to Brandi A. McBee on January 2, 1999 in Chicago. The couple were blessed with each other and their three children. He was a partner with his father Skip in their water treatment business, Twenty First Century Water Systems of Battle Creek. Tom was very talented with his hands, and built his family''s home himself. Woodworking was always a favorite pastime, and his talents were evident in the cabinets in their home that Tom crafted himself. Tom had a very helpful nature, and was always available to family or friend to help, especially with a home remodeling or repair project. His wife Brandi remembers him as a very service oriented man, who had served his church in it''s mission field in Atlanta ,Georgia in 1994. Tom was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints in Marshall. He was raised in the Church located in Battle Creek, where he was a member of their Boy Scout troop. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Most important in his life where his Lord and his family, enjoying his role as father and husband most of all. Surviving are his wife, Brandi; their children, Sean, Brian and Audrey all at home; his father and mother, Skip and Sharon Turner of Battle Creek; 7 sisters, Trisha Howard, Provo, Utah, Teri Ann Carpenter of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tressie Farnsworth of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tiffany Turner of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tabitha Turner of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tavia Turner of Battle Creek, and Tangela Brown of Salt Lake City, Utah; 2 brothers, Timothy R. Turner of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Thaddeus Turner of Battle Creek; his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Feldkamp of Norville; and 20 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wesley Feldkamp, and paternal grandparents, Wilford E. and Lucy Mae Turner. Friends may call at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 12, 9AM-9PM, where family will be present 2PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM to greet friends and share memories. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, Oct. 13, at 11AM at the Battle Creek Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, 1312 Capital Avenue SW. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall. Friends who wish may make memorials to his wife and children. Assistance with memorials is available at Kempf Funeral Home.
