Thomas Charles Cook, 83, of Marshall MI passed away on June 26, 2021. Tom was born on June 10, 1938, in Lansing, MI to parents Raynold Joseph and Mary Ann Snyder.
He served his country in the United States Army prior to attending college. Tom's passion for history and politics led him to attend Michigan State University and obtain a teaching degree and a master's degree in educational administration from Western Michigan University.Tom worked as an educator and administrator for Battle Creek Public Schools for many years. After his retirement from teaching, he continued to work in education as a substitute teacher for several years. Tom enjoyed spending time with people and talking about anything, but especially history and politics. He loved attending his children's and grandchildren's extracurricular events and was known to be the loudest person at any sporting event he went to. After retirement he discovered a love for painting, displaying, and sharing his artwork in local art shows and with his family.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Linda Cook, his children Hillary (Mark Harris), Heather (Tom Dunn) and Adam (Milissa), his grandchildren Zachary, Beverly, Sam, Isabel, Barbara, Aaron, Myles, and Jonah, and his great grandchild Henry.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Eunice, Inez, Dave, and Doug and his daughter Courtney.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy N, Marshall MI 49068. Please visit
