Tamara K. (Cowdry) Albrecht

Tamara K. Albrecht, 73, of Marshall, Michigan passed away on July 2, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 31, 1950, to Burton and Yvonne (Redoutey) Cowdry in Lansing, Michigan. She graduated from Bath High School with honors as Valedictorian, then continued her education by earning her undergrad degree from Central Michigan University and master’s degree in teaching, specializing in mathematics from Western Michigan University. As an educator Tammy touched the lives of many students throughout her 33-year career, the majority at Harper Creek High School, before retiring in 2008. On August 7, 1976, she married Stephen A. Albrecht in Bath, Michigan. Tammy and Steve later moved to Marshall, Michigan where they raised their family and enjoyed life together.

After retiring in 2008, Tammy remained active in the community. She was a member of the Marshall Garden Club as well as the Oaklawn Auxiliary, assisting patients and visitors by volunteering at the hospital’s information desk and Gift Shop for close to 10 years. Tammy was talented in a variety of crafts, including basket weaving, stamping, cross stitching, and knitting. Tammy enjoyed traveling on weekend craft trips with friends. Throughout her life she valued the companionship of animals, from horses in her youth to a number of dogs and cats that were family pets. Much of the kindness and compassion she showed towards animals was reflected in the bonds of friendship she shared with others.

Tammy is survived by her two sons, Adam J. Albrecht of Battle Creek, and Stephen Kyle (Francesca) Albrecht of Battle Creek; two granddaughters, Peighton, and Taylor Albrecht of Battle Creek; brother, Leo "Butch" Cowdry of Bath.

She was preceded in death by husband, Stephen A. Albrecht; parents, Burton and Yvonne Cowdry; and daughter-in-law, Trish (Purcell) Albrecht.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan49068 on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
