Sherry Lynn (Smith) Dailey

June 13, 1954 — August 22, 2023

Battle Creek

Sherry Dailey, 69, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. She was surrounded by the love of her children, family, and friends for the last few months. Sherry was born to Kenneth and Esther (Harris) Smith. She attended and graduated from Harper Creek High School Class of 1972.

Sherry then went on to graduate from Kellogg Community College (1990) with an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN). She then served our Community as a Registered Nurse (RN) at various Hospitals, Facilities, and Homes where she retired in 2019.

Sherry was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and attended weekly services in person or by television. Her faith guided her; she often read her Bible and studied the Word. She was very charitable and always supported various impactful and meaningful causes and foundations. It was important for her to give back. She devoted time to her weekly Women’s group, and Bible studies and gained wonderful friendships through the Lord.

Some of Sherry’s most enjoyable memories and moments were that of being a mother. She dearly loved her family and was always eager to host gatherings and dinners and treasured every opportunity to spend time with one another. She always made everyone feel special, welcomed, and loved. She was incredibly supportive and compassionate towards all those she cared for. Her positivity enabled her to bring a light to everyone who encountered her. Sherry was a free spirit whose inner and outer beauty could be clearly seen by all.

She had a fond sense of humor towards animals and loved them dearly, including her dog, Bubba. Her laughter was often contagious and those who knew her well knew of her knee-slapping chuckles. Her favorite activities included listening and dancing to music, reading, enjoying the beautiful scenery, going to the beach, bonfires, chatting with family and friends, thrift store shopping, and attending to her garden.

Sherry is survived by her children, Michael (Kat Cleveland) Mann, Crystal (Shiloh) Gramm, Andrea Pettit, Amara Dailey (Benji Anderson), Lindsey Boyd (Brandon Cutajar), Stepdaughter April Cockrill; her Grandchildren, Jordyn (Dominic) Rivera, Savannah Almaraz (Alex Goras), Ethan Almaraz, Leila Boyd, Elijah Pettit, Eileen Boyd, Violet Cutajar; and great-grandson, Greyson Goras. As well as her three siblings, Roger (Maureen) Smith, Brian (Stephanie) Smith, and Tammy Smith-Lawrence.
