Shayna Brianne Tidwell

Shayna Brianne (Burkhardt) Tidwell, 29, of Union City, went to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 and took her beloved dog Bella with her. 

Shayna was born on August 27, 1994 in Marshall, Michigan to Brian (Pamela) Burkhardt and Christa (Firestone) Burkhardt. She graduated from Hastings High School in Nebraska. Shayna was a Senior Leasing Agent for Morgan Properties- The Arbors of Battle Creek. 

Growing up, Shayna was heavily involved in Girl Scouts. She would march with her fellow troop members in the Christmas parade every year. Shayna was raised at Crossroads Church and Ministries in Marshall, and was baptized there at 10 years old. She loved horseback riding at Kathy’s Paddock in Marshall where she worked during the summers growing up. Shayna helped with programs that focused on therapeutic horseback riding for disabled children. Music was Shayna’s biggest passion. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. Singing was her way of expressing her emotions. Shayna loved to go on rides with her husband Shane on his Harley and hold her arms out in the wind because it is where she felt most free. She loved to shop and take her children with her. Shayna had a Facebook page called ‘Never Give Up’ where she had over 3000 members from all over the world, she provided support and resources to people to help motivate them. She used it as an outlet for her own healing journey and was always happy to help people. Shayna started her own freelance photography business called RKR earlier this year. Her favorite place to go was Bridge Park where she would go to sit and enjoy all the beauty that nature had to offer. Above all, Shayna loved her family very deeply. 

Shayna is survived by her loving husband, Brandon Shane Tidwell; daughters, Kelsie Lynn Tidwell, Rylee Saria Tidwell, and Ruby Jean Tidwell; father, Brian (Pamela) Burkhardt; mother, Christa Burkhardt; sisters, Brittany (Jeremy) Barnett, Vanessa, Elisa, and Shawn; maternal grandmother, Sandra Firestone; paternal grandparents, Brian J. and Pauline Burkhardt; father-in-law, James (Georgina) Tidwell Jr.; brother-in-law, James K. (Erin) Tidwell III; sisters-in-law, Crystal M. (Paul) Wills, and Christie E. Hewitt; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Gary Firestone, and mother-in-law, Cindy L. Blair.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 9:30-11:30am at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068. A memorial service will take place following visitation at the funeral home at 11:33am.
