Sharon A. VanSickle, 72 of Marshall passed away peacefully, Friday, Janurary 11, 2013 at the Marshall Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.Sharon was born on September 22, 1940, in Marshall to Samuel and Betty (Patton) Bosserd. She graduated from Marshall High in 1958. Her marriage to Duane Riever ended in divorce. On May 3, 1975, she married Blaine W. VanSickle at the Marshall United Methodist Church.Sharon worked as office manager for Dr. Walter, Dr. Bob, and Dr. David Heidenreich, three generations of dentists in Marshall for 42 years. She was a member of the Marshall United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Michigan Farm Bureau. Sharon enjoyed playing bunko, working in her garden, feeding the birds, and being outdoors on her four wheeler or her snowmobile. She and Blaine traveled all over the United States together and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.She is survived by her husband Blaine of Marshall, two sons Scott (Debra) Riever of Grand Rapids, Trevor (Kelly) Riever of Marshall. She is also survived by two step-children Kent (Michelle) VanSickle of Marshall, Kathy VanSickle of Charlotte, 6 grandchildren, a brother Thomas Bosserd of Ypsilanti, her mother Betty Bosserd of Battle Creek and sister-in-law Doreen VanSickle of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her father Samuel Bosserd Sr. and brother Samuel Bosserd Jr.Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 2-8pm with family present to greet friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services celebrating her life will take place at 11am on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home with Reverend Len Schoenherr officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will gather with friends following the cemetery services at the Marshall United Methodist Church. Family requests memorial contributions be made to the Mar Lee School Scholarship Fund or to the Marshall United Methodist Church Kitchen Fund. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.
