Sharon Lee Thornhill, 76, of Bellevue, Michigan passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan.

She was born on November 25, 1946 to Raymond and Odula (Basinger) Greenawalt in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Sharon was a 1964 graduate of Bellevue High School. On July 17, 1965, Sharon married Ronald Thornhill in Bellevue, Michigan.

Ron and Sharon bought a farm in the 1980's just north of Bellevue and started raising hogs. After 15 years they decided to retire from hog farming and Sharon then worked at many different jobs in the Bellevue area. Sharon enjoyed playing softball and bowling where she won the 1979 State Double Tournament. She also went to many National bowling tournaments with her many girlfriends. They would go shopping and stop at the casinos along the way. Sharon loved to go bluegill fishing with Ron. She was known for her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, and she also had a green thumb with her many houseplants.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ronald, her son, Darren (Tasha) Thornhill of Clio, Michigan; her six grandchildren, and her brother, Darrel (Tammy) Greenawalt of Augusta, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Thomas Thornhill and her sister, Pam Simpson.

A Celebration of Life service for Sharon will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
