Rose Mary (Wilkerson) McKeague, age 76, of Marshall, died at her home on Wednesday night, March 29, 2006. She was able to stay at her home because of the loving care of her family in her final time here. Rose was born Feb. 24, 1930 in Marshall to Clyde E. and Vernia D. (Price) Wilkerson. She has lived in Marshall all of her life, attending Marshall schools. She was married to Myron W. "Mike" McKeague on August 14, 1948 in Marshall. She was a homemaker, and babysat for many children over the years. She loved caring for children, and was a positive force in their lives. She worked for a short time at Win Schuler''s Restaurant, and also at the hotel there, and later for Howard''s Motel. Rose cherished any time spent with family and friends above all else. She enjoyed camping at Tri-Lake Trails and traveling with husband Mike. The couple enjoyed square dancing together at Marshall and Battle Creek Square Dance groups. Rose and Mike formed the "Marshall Mates" Square Dance Club. Surviving are her husband Myron "Mike" McKeague; their daughters, Sylvia (Lee) Long of Marshall, Cynthia McKeague of Battle Creek, Debra (Moises) Garcia and Pamela (Rodney) Parson all of Battle Creek, Paula Petro of Olivet and Myra McKeague of Marshall; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Beverly) Wilkerson of Battle Creek; 2 sisters, Shirley Sloan of Athens and Anna May Meisner of Wilmington, NC; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diania McKeague, a grandson Timothy Wayne Long, a brother, Eugene Wilkerson and her parents. Friends may call at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Saturday from 4PM to 9PM, where family will be present to greet visitors and share memories from 6PM to 8PM, and on Sunday from 9AM to 9PM, where family will be present from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM. Funeral services to celebrate and remember her life will be held on Monday, April 3, at 1:30PM at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home. Committal services will follow at Lyon Lake Cemetery. The family suggests that those who wish to make memorial contributions do so to the American Cancer Society. Assistance with memorials is available at Kempf Funeral Home.
