Ronald "Ron" Edward Darden, 72, of Marshall, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 at home in Marshall.

He was born on February 20, 1949 to John "JT" and Sarah (Jennings) Darden in Birmingham, Alabama. Ron married Norma Zapata on June 16, 1976.

Ron was a longtime over the road truck driver. He had also worked for EPI in Battle Creek and at Hungry Howie's in Marshall. Ron will be missed for his sense of humor, playing jokes on everyone and his laughter. Ron would spend hours upon hours playing video games with his family and he was the best at Mario shuffle. He loved to fish and sit on his front porch just watching the world go by. His favorite sports teams were Alabama Crimson Tide and the Green Bay Packers. He loved his animals and especially loved being with his family.

Ron is survived by his loving wife; Norma, his children;, Paula (Jason) Bugosh of Marshall, Eric (Teresa) Darden of Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin, Anthony (Cricket) K. McAllister of Battle Creek and Joshua (Tiffany) Darden of Birmingham, Alabama, his grandchildren; Renee  Kunsman, Logan Bugosh, Hunter Darden, Lance Darden; Tiana  Darden, Alexandria McAllister, Madison Darden, Miller Darden and Kailin Green, and his great grandchildren;, Kaylee Kunsman and JT Darden, his siblings; Linda  Freeman of Birmingham, Alabama and Donny (Becky) Darden of Sulligent, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his father; John "JT" T. Darden, his mother; Sarah N. Darden, his step-mother; Anne Darden and his brother; Johnny Darden.

Graveside funeral services with full military honors will take place at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.

Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project.
