Roger George Mestdagh

Roger George Mestdagh, 71, formerly of Homer, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Roger was born on February 18, 1952 in Albion, Michigan to Robert and Virginia (Vancalbergh) Mestdagh. He graduated from Homer High School in 1970 and worked as a machinist for RSB Transmissions (previously Miller Brother Manufacturing) in Homer for over 30 years. 

Perpetually early for everything, Roger was happiest when he was trap shooting or out boating on a lake. He enjoyed watching Notre Dame Football, NASCAR races, and hunting shows on television.  Roger especially loved to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Roger is survived by his children, Carrie (Dylan) Zuck and Rick (Colleen) Mestdagh; grandchildren, Riley and Dawson Zuck, and Elise and Annie Mestdagh; brothers, Rodney (Jill) Mestdagh and Robert (Ruth) Mestdagh. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 5-8pm at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 303 S Hillsdale Street, Homer, Michigan 49245. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Olmstead officiating. A graveside service will take place following the funeral service at Fairview Cemetery in Homer. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in honor of Roger can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
