Robert "Bob" Harold Brodock, 69, of Homer, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Brightside Assisted Living in Jackson, Michigan.
He was born on July 24, 1953 to Leon and Joan (Smith) Brodock in Albion. On May 17, 1980 he married Mary Knapp in Homer.
Bob was employed for 37 years at the Village of Homer. He had a special knack for training new employees and helping them do the “job correctly”. Bob loved making friends with everyone, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed making people laugh and always wanted to make everyone feel welcome. He was very athletic; softball and golfing were his favorites. He played in many area leagues alongside his brother. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, he especially loved bird hunting. His bird hunting dogs were his pride and joy. Bob loved the outdoors; northern Michigan was a special place to him. His last hunting adventure was with his nephews Wade and Blu. Bob will be sadly missed for his vibrant personality.
Bob is survived by his loving spouse; Lou, his children; Casie (Matt) Miller of Albion, Cara (Nate) Gaborik of Homer, and Robert (Kim) Brodock of Homer, his grandchildren; Baylee, Adah, Hunter, Reinny, Britton, Elise, and Dalton, his siblings; Connie M. Sundberg of Homer, Gail (Isaac) L. Burkwalt of Homer, and Jerry (Ellen) D. Brodock of Venice, Florida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Bob will be held Monday, October 3, 2022, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 303 S, Hillsdale St. Homer, Michigan 49245.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 303 S. Hillsdale St. Homer, Michigan 49245 with Jacob Washburn officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Homer.
Memorials are suggested to the Bessie Smith Scholarship Fund, Brightside Activities Fund or the Homer Athletic Club.
