Robert H. Day, 73, of Marshall died on Monday April 24, 2006, at home in the care of his family.Mr. Day was born on October 12, 1932, in Marshall to Harry J. and Ella Mae (Holibaugh) Day. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1951. In October 1956 he married his only true love, Patricia K. Holt, in Marshall. She precedes him in death on September 10, 2002.Mr. Day worked for 27 years in the Processing Department at Kellogg''s. He retired from there in 1994. Mr. Day farmed in the area his whole life. He was an avid horse puller, and has been competing in the sport since he was 14 years old. He was a member of the Dyanometer Association, Michigan Horse Pulling Boat Association. Mr. Day would always be seen pulling his horses at the County Fair. He was also a member of the Marshall Moose Lodge #676. Mr. Day enjoyed being outdoors, working with his horses. He enjoyed going for rides to get feed at the elevator or going out with his brother Ken to get doughnuts. He also enjoyed spending time with his family especially time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandson.He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Kevin Allard, a son and daughter-in-law Terry and Sandy Day, all of Marshall, three grandchildren Todd and Taylor Day and Kalynne Allard all of Marshall, and a great-grandson Laine Day of Marshall. He is also survived by sisters; Eleanor Huggett, of Bellevue, Donna Geyer of CO, and Bernice Woods of Marshall, and brothers; Kenneth Day, and Harry Day Jr. both of Marshall, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a sister Joyce Cummings.Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:00am-9:00pm with family present from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will take place at 11:00am on Thursday at the funeral home with Diane Inman officiating. Interment will follow at Lyon Lake Cemetery.
