Richard E. Yaudes

Richard E. Yaudes, age 62, of Marshall, died unexpectedly while camping at Ft. Custer Camp Grounds in Augusta on Thursday night, September 28, 2006. Richard was born June 13, 1944 in Marshall to Elvyn F. and Ruth (Rowley) Yaudes. He grew up in Marshall, attending Marshall schools. He was a member of the Marshall High School graduating class of 1962. He moved to West Virginia for a couple of years, then returned to Marshall where he has spent the rest of his life. He was married on March 15, 1969 in Marshall at St. Mary Catholic Church to Linda K. Duttlinger. Richard was a Service Technician for Amerigas Company in Battle Creek for seven years until his retirement from there July 7 of this year. He has worked as a service technician in the propane industry for 35 years total, and had also worked at Fuelgas in Marshall. He attended numerous trade schools for programs relating to his work over the years. Richard was a confirmed member of Zion Lutheran Church. His greatest joy in life has been his role as grandfather. Time spent with his grandchildren was always a favorite time. He was an outdoorsman who loved to camp, and enjoyed bicycling. His sons remember him as a great father. Richard has been an amateur meteorologist the past 20 years, predicting the weather daily using his computer and instruments. Surviving are his wife Linda; their 3 sons, Rodney W. (Rita) Yaudes of Battle Creek, Chad M. (Beverly)Yaudes of Marshall, and Steven K. (Tera) Yaudes of Tekonsha; 9 grandchildren, Burles Yeager, Stacey Caldwell, Jazmin Yaudes, Marcella Yaudes, Dusten Yaudes, Taylor Yaudes, Lindsey Yaudes, Tyler Yaudes and Kayleigh Yaudes; his mother Ruth Yaudes of Marshall, his sister Marjorie (Robert) Kiessling of Marshall, and brother George Yaudes of Battle Creek; nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Sunday 9AM to 9PM, where family will be present to greet friends and share memories from 1PM-3PM and 5PM -7PM. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at Kempf Funeral Home on Monday at 1:30P.M. with Rev. Robert Doner officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. The family suggests that those who wish may make memorial contributions to American Cancer Society or Battle Creek Shriners. Assistance with memorials is available at Kempf Funeral Home.
