Richard D. Treat

Richard D Treat passed away peacefully at home in the care of his family, nurses, Julie & Melissa, and aide, Taylor on October 20, 2023. He was 92 years old.

Dick was born October 7, 1931, in Bellevue, Michigan. He attended Bellevue schools.

On June 27, 1952, he married Sandra (Wagner) , his bride of 72 years at the First Baptist Church in Bellevue, just three months after their blind date.

Over the years Dick had a full life. Spending 39 years at Kellogg’s and 9 years in the Navy Reserve.

You could find Dick in his barn, on his tractor, or at an auction getting the best deal possible and his best friend, Marty would often be seen with him.

Dick is survived by his wife, Sandra “His Chickadee”; son, Richard (Louise) Treat; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and sister, Ellen (David) Deverman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Demress and Elizabeth (Collins) Treat; children Mark Treat, Christine Bolz, Kenneth (Donna) Treat; one step grandchild; and his sister, Beverly Irelan.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M. at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 205 N. Elizabeth St, Bellevue, MI 49021. The funeral ceremony will begin at 1:30 P.M.  with great granddaughter, Taylor Treat and Pastor Devon Shepherd officiating. A graveside service will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue.
