Richard R. Rocho

Richard R. Rocho Sr., 79, of Ceresco, died on Sunday October 29, 2006 at Foote Hospital in Jackson.Mr. Rocho was born on February 10, 1927 in Ceresco to Ralph and Audrey (Longenecker) Rocho. He attended Marshall Schools. Mr. Rocho served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On November 28, 1946 he married the former Clara Clark in Marshall. She survives.Mr. Rocho worked as a forklift driver for the Kellogg Company for 48 years. He was also employed by Katz Saw Mill, and was a school bus driver for Harper Creek Schools. Mr. Rocho enjoyed watching the wildlife. He also enjoyed caring for his yard and taking care of his house he built himself. Mr. Rocho lived in Ceresco his whole life and was known as grandpa to all of the neighborhood children. He was called the self appointed mayor of Ceresco. Mr. Rocho enjoyed spending time with his family especially time he spent with his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife of 59 years Clara of Grass Lake, daughter Janene (Keith) Rocho-Richardson, of Grass Lake, two sons Richard (Wendy) Rocho Jr. of Angola, IN, Steven (Heather) Rocho, of Ceresco, ten grandchildren; Kelli, Rich, Traci, Nicki, Doug, Dawn, Cory, Kody, Kory, and Donne, and four great-grandchildren Josh, Hayley, Alaina, and Shevy. He is also survived by a sister Charlene (George) Moor of Ceresco, and a brother Norman (Shirley) Rocho of Battle Creek, brother-in-law Ed Nuding of Ceresco and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Jacqueline Nuding.Family will receive at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services celebrating his life will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday at the funeral home with Reverend Richard Schlee officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calhoun Area Humane Society. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home
