Richard D. Eis

Richard D. Eis Jr, 70, of Marshall died on Monday August 2, 2021 at his home.

Rick was born May 7 1951 in Albion to Richard D. and Beverly J. (Rampy) Eis Sr.  He graduated from Albion High School in 1969. Rick was a member of the Michigan National Guard during the 1970s. He later graduated from Kellogg Community College Law Enforcement Program. He was married to Kay Nosker. Together they had a daughter, Kelly.   On April 3, 1987, he married Sandy G. Philson in Battle Creek.

Rick started with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department in 1977, and he would retire in 2003 after working 26 years. Following his retirement, he worked as a Civil Process Server for five years.  Rick was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Wayne Fitch Lodge.  He enjoyed working outdoors, carpentry work, and any type of work with his hands. Rick enjoyed grilling, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy, daughter Kelly Eis, stepson Scott Watkins, mother Beverly Eis, brothers, William (Lorna) Eis and Brian (Roxann) Eis, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father Richard D. Eis Sr.

A memorial visitation will take place from 5-8pm on Friday August 6, 2021, at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services at 723 US Hwy 27 N Marshall MI 49068.  A memorial service will take place at 11 am on Saturday August 7, 2021, at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 US Hwy 27 N Marshall MI 49068.
