Phillip Edward Knoll, age 83, of Bellevue, MI passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at his home. He was born July 1, 1936 in Battle Creek, MI the son of Vern and Leora (Everett) Knoll. Phillip proudly served his country in the United States Army serving as a military police officer. He was a pilot and loved to fly recreationally. Phillip enjoyed building muzzleloaders and even owned and operated Buck and Ball gun shop right out of his home. He was also featured in a gun magazine. He enjoyed setting up at gun shows and attending gun competitions. When he wasn't building guns, he was racing motorcycles. He placed 5th in a National Hill Climb competition. Phillip had several trophy's from racing competitions. Phillip was a master landscaper, but only for himself. He enjoyed farming, he had his own orchards and beautiful gardens that he grew himself. He loved fishing and raised his own catfish in his ponds that he created.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Lone; children, Debra (Chris) Armstrong, Lowell (Carolyn) Knoll, Richard (Roxana) Knoll, Janette Laymance, Linda Laymance; grandchildren, Anthony, Jessica, Jason, Leah, Mandy, Kyle, Richard, Heather, Matt, Amanda, Jason "Bud", Ashley, Kevin, Sherriden; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Owen (Dee) Knoll. He was preceded in death by his sons, Timothy & Norm Knoll; brother, Richard Knoll; and his parents.
Family will receive friends at Kempf Funeral & Cremation Service, Bellevue, on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 10:00am - 1:00pm. A graveside service will follow at 1:30pm at Hick's Cemetery.
