Patrick "Pat" Riley Crouse, 71, of Marshall, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at home in the loving care of his family.
He was born on September 13, 1952 to Glenn and Barbara (Vincent) Crouse in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
On July 11, 1992 he married Laura A. Sibal in Albion, Michigan. He graduated from Coopersville High School in 1970. 
He began his working career as an orderly at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids and was encouraged to continue his education. Heeding this advice, Pat began studying to become a Respiratory Therapist. On December 6th, 1975 he became a Certified Respiratory Therapist. Enrolling at Ferris State College in Respiratory Therapy, he graduated on May 16th, 1980 as a Graduate Respiratory Therapist. On June 6th, 1981 through the National Board for Respiratory Therapy he earned the distinction of Registered Respiratory Therapist. 
After 10 years in Grand Rapids, he moved to Marshall, Michigan, taking the position of Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at Oaklawn Hospital. In July of 2012 he retired after 31 years. Pat was the Director of Emergency Preparedness through FEMA at Oaklawn Hospital and was instrumental in starting the Respiratory Rehabilitation Center. Pat was the Director of the Marshall DDA in the late 1980's. He had also served with The American Lung Association of Michigan on their Lung Disease and Educational Committee, the Southwest Region American Lung Association of Michigan in various capacities including chairman. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Marshall.
Pat loved hunting, deer hunting being his favorite. Deer camp was his, no matter what, week off, He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and taking his family tent camping across the State of Michigan. Traveling with Laura was one of his favorite things to do, especially to Ireland, having been there about 20 times. He will be truly missed for his great cooking and his devoted love of family and especially his grandchildren. 
Pat is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Laura, his mother, Barbara Crouse of Spring Lake, Michigan; his children; John (Liz Scears) Crouse of Marshall, Michigan, Catherine (Tony) Rich of Union City, Michigan and  Jeannine (Joshua) Hagadorn of Ithaca, New York; his grandchildren, Isabella  Rich, Riley Hagadorn, Thomas Crouse, Josie Oliver, Anna B. Hagadorn, Olive Crouse and Jayce Crouse-Rich; his siblings, Michael  Crouse of Paducah, Kentucky, Daniel (Janet) Crouse of Spring Lake, Michigan and Carolyn (Edward) Dorsey of Spring Lake, Michigan. 
He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Debbie Priest. 
Visitation will be held Monday, March 25, 2024, from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068 with the memorial service to follow at 12:30 pm with Reverend David Moran officiating.   
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc. (912 Killian Hill Rd., SW Lilburn, GA 30047).
