Onnilee Gretchen KatzOnnilee G. (Kelso) Katz, age 98, of Marshall died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Verona Road Adult Foster Care Home.Mrs. Katz was born on June 14, 1908 in Lawrence, Michigan to Harry Scott and Ruth Irene (Abrams) Kelso. She attended Argubright Business College. On May 25, 1929, she married Charles A. "Pie" Katz in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1995. Onnilee was a devoted wife and mother.She was a member of the Liberty Extension Club and United Methodist Church where she was active in its Mary Marsh Circle. Onnilee and her husband were very active members of the Marshall Moose Lodge #676. She loved flowers, her favorite being the Iris. She was a member of the State and National Iris Societies. For her many didicated years of service to the Iris organiations, she was honored by having a special pale yellow hybrid Iris named after her, the "Onnilee Katz Iris".She is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Keith) Albaugh of Marshall; sons, Edwin G. Katz of Battle Creek and Charles R. "Bob" (Linda) Katz of Tekonsha; 16 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by sons, Bernard Katz and Dana E. Katz; infant sons, William D. Katz and Charles D. Katz; grandsons, Tony Katz and Brian Katz; and granddaughters, Lori Cooper and Teresa Katz.Friends may call at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Friday from 9:00 to 9:00. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00. A service to remember and celebrate her life will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Marshall Moose Lodge #676 building Fund. Assistance with memorials is available a the funeral home.
