Norma Jane (Katz) Waterbury, 81, of Battle Creek, Michigan, was called home peacefully on December 5, 2023.
Norma was born on December 1, 1942 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Fred and Ruth (Flanders) Katz. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1961. 
Norma worked for many years as a secretary for the Battle Creek Police Department, until her marriage to Richard Waterbury in 1992 at Garrison Hills Church where they attended for many years.
They traveled to the Western United States camping in their 5th wheel and they also traveled to The Holy Land where Richard was offered 6 goats for Norma. Together they volunteered at the Salvation Army soup kitchen. 
Norma was a devoted Christian, reading her Bible daily. In her later years she attended Battle Creek First Wesleyan Church and Battle Creek Friends Church.
Norma was a sweet, caring, happy lady. She cared for several nephews and nieces whenever needed for many years. Especially, the families of Josh, Robin, Grace and Abigail Simpson.
Norma is survived by her brothers; Stanley (Julie) Katz of Ceresco, Michigan and Gary (Connie) Katz of Battle Creek, Michigan; her nephews Glenn (Teresa) Katz, Gregg Katz, Darryl White, Terry White, Derek Katz, and Kevin Katz; her nieces; Tahnee, Baylee, Kylee Burge, Cheyenne Katz, Ceciliana Smith and Cindi Katz; her sister-in-law, Marcia Katz of Ellenton, Florida; step-sisters, Betty Rolffs of East Leroy, Michigan, and Barbara (John) Rickman of Tullahoma, Tennessee, her special stepdaughter, Pamela Huffman of Charlotte, Michigan;   her stepdaughter, Kay (Jim) Shragg of Eckford, Michigan and Carol (Jim) Smock of Seattle, Washington; her stepsons, Charles (Jeannie) Waterbury of South Bend, Indiana and Richard (Kristy) Waterbury of Alpena, Michigan; her special niece Gayle (Steven) Carpenter of Battle Creek, Michigan; her special friend, Susie Lopshire of Battle Creek, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard E. Waterbury, her brothers, Gordon Katz, Norman Katz and her sister Kathryn White.
Memorial contributions in honor of Norma can be made to the Battle Creek Salvation Army Soup Kitchen or to Centrica Care Hospice. 
Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Newton Township Cemetery with Chaplain Jose Macias officiating.
