Myrtle Louise (Heath) Gordier

Myrtle Louise (Heath) Gordier, 95, died February 6, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Myrtle was born September 23, 1926 in Eaton Rapids.

Myrtle is survived by her children: James (Betty) Gordier, Annette Picketts, Anita (Mike) Whittaker, Susan Teachout, Stephen Gordier, David (Paige) Gordier, Mary (Faez) Shukur. She has nineteen grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren. Myrtle is preceded in death by her son Rudolph Gordier

Myrtle was married in 1945 and moved to Ceresco, MI, where she was a loving stay at home mom. She raised eight children and instilled in them strong family values. Myrtle loved family gatherings and always arranged the location and time for each holiday dinner. She would often tell specific members of the family that the dinner was earlier than scheduled, to guarantee they would not be late.

As her children got older, Myrtle later worked for the Calhoun Intermediate Schools. When she retired from this job, she dedicated the rest of her life to her family. She enjoyed camping, going for rides, watching the birds, especially the sand hill cranes, and the birds at her feeders. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends, and making puzzles. Myrtle will be remembered by all for her family dedication and laughter. She has left many wonderful memories behind.

The funeral service will be held at Kempf Funeral Home, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall MI 49068, on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday. A luncheon will follow the service in the Kempf Reception Hall. Interment will be at a later date at Munger Cemetery in Eaton Rapids.
