Marylynn L. Kleinschmidt, age 85, of Marshall, died Wednesday night, January 27, 2010at Maplewood of Marshall. Marylynn was born May 21, 1924 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Louis Otto and Barbara (Michels) Wulf. She grew up in northwest Indiana and graduated from Hammond High School in 1942. She then attended Indiana University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.She was married to Charles L. Kleinschmidt in 1942 in Hammond, Indiana.Marylynn retired from Jacobson's Stores in 1989 where she was a buyer of fine linens for their Florida division. Prior to that Marylynn was an executive with Gattel's stores in Cincinnati and Indianapolis and Sears, Chicago. Her responsibilities required extensive travel. Marylynn was equally comfortable dining in elegant restaurants or fending off a mugger in New York City. For those that knew Marylynn well, this was no surprise.She moved to Marshall in 1989 to be near her son Chick and his family. Marylynn loved Marshall. She served on the school board starting in 1991 when she was appointed to fill an unfinished term and then won her own term. She served as a Trustee and Board Treasurer during her tenure. She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she proudly served as an usher for ten years of service.Marylynn enjoyed volunteer service in the community and was very comfortable stepping into any leadership role. While living in Hammond, Indiana she helped found the very first chapter of the Lady's Lions Club. She continued her community service with the Lions Club in Marshall.Marylynn enjoyed antiquing and trips to the Stage Coach with fellow school board members after their meeting! She loved dancing to the big band era and music.Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Charles "Chick
