Mary Maxine Moore, 70, of Albion, passed away October 26, 2021, at home in Albion in the company of her family following a brief illness. She was born February 7, 1951, to Noble O. and Frances Lucile (Clark) Moore in Albion, Michigan.

Mary was a long-time attorney in Albion. She graduated from Albion High School in 1969; the University of Kentucky in 1973 where she was a Phi Beta Kappa; and Emory University Law School in 1976. She was a member of St. James’ Episcopal Church in Albion.

Mary was a partner in the law firms of Moore & Marsh in Albion for 43 years where she specialized in Estate Planning, Real Estate and Probate matters, and was actively practicing law at the time of her death. Mary was an active participant in her church, and was especially proud of her role in the founding of Albion Community Gardens, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides gardening space for the community, fresh produce for seniors and low-income families and education opportunities for young people. Mary was an avid Kentucky sports fan, especially of the basketball team which she followed year around.

Mary is survived by her husband, Douglas L. Patterson; her closest friend and law partner, David G. Marsh, and many cousins, especially Pene Vickers of Marshall and Judy McLeod of Louisville, Mississippi and her longtime assistant, Betsy Nelson of Albion.

Pursuant to her wishes, Mary has been cremated and private funeral arrangements will take place at a later date. Memorials are suggested to St. James’ Episcopal Church and Albion Community Gardens, Inc. both of Albion, MI.
