Mary Margaret Koenig

Mary Margaret Koenig, 73, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at home.

She was born on September 28, 1950 to Kirtland and Lola (Greenman) Nickless-Wing in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Mary graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1968. On September 24, 1969, Mary married Robert W. Koenig Sr. in Battle Creek at Convis United Methodist Church. Sadly, he preceded her in death on October 23, 2020.

Mary's love of music started at a very young age when she took piano lessons. Later she learned to play the accordion and the double bass. She was a member of Sonoma United Methodist Church in Battle Creek where she also sang in their choir. Mary enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, watching Television, especially Murder She Wrote, Criminal Minds and SWAT and going to Culver's. She loved watching college football, college basketball, NASCAR and hockey. She will be fondly missed for her love of family; she was an excellent homemaker and was an incredible generous person. Above all else, she was so proud of her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children; Tina Koenig of Battle Creek, Michigan, Robin (Matthew) Colwell of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Windi (Greg) Glessner of Battle Creek, Michigan and Robert (Jessica) Koenig Jr. of Marshall, Michigan; her grandchildren, Quinton, Cameron, Payton Margaret, Noah, Alex, Paxton, & Anastasia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne Koenig, Sr., her parents and her stepfather, Francis Wing.

A private graveside service will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
