Mary Jane Roy, 96, of Marshall, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2022, at her home in Marshall, MI.

She was born on January 13, 1926, to Roscoe and Inetta (McCaully) Jones in Ashley, IL. Mary was a graduate of Grand Ledge High School, Class of 1944 and graduated in 1948 from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree. She worked as a teacher for many years at Marshall Public Schools and although she and her beloved husband “Barny” had no children of their own, she considered many students, as her kids.

She was a member of Michigan Teachers Association, Michigan Education Association, National Education Association, and St. Mary Catholic Church Rosary and Altar Society as well as Oaklawn Hospital Auxiliary.

Mary is survived by nephew, Jeff (Claudia) Vincent who was very close to her and her precious and dearly loved kitty, Blanca. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bernard E. Roy; parents, Roscoe S. and Inetta J. Jones.

Services have been entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068. Private burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery beside her husband.
