Mary Elizabeth (Gardner) Gardner-Jordan

Mary Elizabeth Gardner-Jordan, 76, of Bellevue, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 28, 1947 to James and Marjorie "June" (Cavender) Gardner in Battle Creek, Michigan. She graduated from Bellevue High School and attended Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek.

On October 9, 1971, Mary married Joe Jordan in Bellevue, Michigan at First Baptist Church. She worked as a para-legal at Merle Augustine Law Office in Battle Creek, Michigan for 20 years. Mary ended her working career at the Bellevue Post office, where she worked inside and also delivering mail.

Mary enjoyed everything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. She was an avid reader, including the dictionary which served her very well when playing Scrabble. Mary also enjoyed playing Euchre, watching bull riding, and following the Detroit Lions no matter what their record was. She wanted nothing more than to be with her family and to make sure they were taken care of.

Mary is survived by her loving spouse of 52 years Joseph "Joe", daughter, Julie Jordan (Chad Newcomb)  and son, Joseph M. Jordan II (Amanda Ramon);  grandchildren, Sydney & Mitch Thompson-Pugh, Jade Reed, great grandchildren, Sommer & Sutton Thompson-Pugh; brother, Jimmy (Lou) Gardner of Albion, New York; sister in law, Maryann  Torrey of Burlington, Michigan and brother in law, James (Betty) Jordan of Upland, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob Gardner.

Visitation for Mary will be held Monday, August 21, 2023, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 205 N. Elizabeth St. Bellevue, Michigan 49021.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Bellevue, Bellevue, Michigan, with a visitation starting at 12:00 noon prior to the funeral at the church.  Pastor Don Francis, officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue, Michigan.
