Mary Lee (Gates) Collard

Mary Lee Collard, age 90, of Bellevue, passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

Mary was born in Coldwater, MI, on April 5, 1932. She worked as a dog groomer and kennel operator for the family business, Mar Creek Kennels in Marshall. She also worked for Kellogg’s in Battle Creek. She enjoyed Indy and NASCAR racing. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was united in marriage with Robert C. Collard on September 27, 1951. Robert preceded her in death on April 12, 2017.

Mary is survived by her son, Bruce (Sue Keiper) Collard; grandson, Bruce Alan (Cheyenne) Collard II; and great-children, Bruce Alan Collard III and Alayah Dunkel.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068. Interment will follow the service, in Porter Cemetery in Convis Township. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
