Mary Lou Clement, 87, of Marshall, passed away on February 14, 2024 surrounded by her family at Marshall Comfort Care. She was born on November 15, 1936 to Otto and Agnes (Brown) Swoish in Detroit, MI. On May 30, 1959, Mary Lou married James "Jim" Clement in Detroit, MI, they were married for 58 years, and Jim preceded her in death on January 1, 2018. Mary Lou worked as an Administrator for Southern Michigan Mutual. She loved playing golf and volunteering at the Fountain Clinic. The Detroit Lions were her very favorite football team. She was a huge fan, her whole life. When she wasn’t watching the Lions, she enjoyed doing needle point, going to the library, and playing the piano and singing. Mary Lou was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends. She loved sitting on her back patio, watching the birds in their birdhouses and going to family functions. Mary Lou and her daughter, Jenny, would go on long trips to go visit her kids.  

Mary Lou is survived by her children, Cathy (John) Nicholson of Florence, SC, Colleen Clement of Nashville, TN, Jenny (Rob) Oleksa of Marshall, Jim (Kristin) Clement of Cornelius, NC; grandchildren, Charlie (Chiara) Nicholson, Sami (Drew) Urbaniak, Brendan, Keira, Finn Clement, Caitlin (Terah) Hooper, Danny Oleksa and brothers, Jim (Ann) Swoish and Jack Christian.

She was preceded in death by parents and brother, Robert Swoish.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Marshall, Michigan with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:45pm at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024, 11:00 am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marshall, Michigan, with Fr. Craig Lusk, Celebrant.

Burial will take place in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
