Marvin William Ganfi, 97, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024, at home in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was born on June 19, 1926, in Detroit, MI to the late Agatino and Agnes Ganfi.
In 1944, Marv graduated from High School in Lincoln Park, Michigan, then joined the army and fought in Europe until the end of WWII. He attended Wayne State University School of Business, which lent to his entrepreneurial spirit. For 35 years he worked as owner operator of automotive filtration manufacturing facilities.
On July 1st, 1950, Marv was married to Grace, who preceded him in death after nearly 70 years of marriage. They moved to Battle Creek in 1973 and spent 20 winters around Sarasota, FL.
Marv loved life and was passionate about family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting, riding dirt bikes and snowmobiles, golfing, and playing cards. He appreciated good food in great company and was marvelous to all who encountered him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Mona Ganfi of Battle Creek; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Cliff Fair of Livonia; grandchildren Eric Ganfi (Stephanie); Nicole Ganfi (Picchiello); Lindsey Farrell (Josh); and Steven Fair; great grandson, Maverick Farrell; brother Bob [Clarence] Ganfi; and several dear nieces and nephews.
Marv Ganfi devoted his life to his family and will forever be a treasured father, grandfather and friend.
Per Marv’s request, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068.
