Marvel Mae Weers

Marvel Mae (Simpson) Weers, 87, of Marshall passed away on October 17, 2022, in Marshall, MI.

Marvel was born on December 7, 1934, to Kenneth and Eathel (Boyer) Simpson into a farming family in rural Charlotte, MI.  She worked as a secretary for many years. On August 21, 1955, she married the love of her life Clifford Lamar Weers, and they lived in Marshall for most of their married life. After their retirement, they wintered for many years on Pine Island, FL.

Marvel and Lamar were long-time members of the local Zion Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son, Martin E. Weers of Niles, MI; grandchildren, Laura Weers, Alish Gruenwald, Morgan (Jacob) Baughman-Weers, Marjorie (Codie) Brown, Amber Weers, Emma Weers; and great-grandchild, Briannah Hacker, and great-great-grandchildren, Parker Gruenwald, Marlow Baughman, and Josh Vandera; siblings Lois (Kendall) Klumpp, Albert and Roy (Krys) Simpson, and in-law Sandra Simpson, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, grandson, Eric; and family members John and Phyllis Simpson, Max Simpson, and Jaynne Simpson.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 23, 2022, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Marshall, Michigan.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, 10:00 am at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Marshall, Michigan, with Pastor Anthony Voltattorni, officiating.

Entombment will take place in the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Inc, in Battle Creek, MI.

Arrangements were entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Service, Marshall, MI.

Memorials are suggested to the Zion Lutheran Church.
