Marlene Cecile (Woodworth) Lafferty

Marlene Cecile Lafferty, 87, of Marshall, Michigan passed away on August 18, 2023.

Marlene was born on December 3, 1935, to the late Cecil and Gladys Woodworth in Imlay City, Michigan. She graduated from Marshall High School. She worked for thirty- four years at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. She loved reading, doing puzzles, listening to music, and traveling.

Marlene is survived by her children, Carolyn Jewell Sutton, Jeanie Mae Lafferty, Felmer Lee Lafferty, Betty Lou Anderson, and Mary Jane Lizana, and Carl Gene Lafferty; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, George Woodworth; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Eugene Lafferty; and brothers, William Woodworth and Bradford Woodworth.

Friends may visit with the family from 2 – 5 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Elara Caring Hospice.
